I’ve read all of Beth Harbison’s books and liked them all. Most high school guys have no clue what they are doing and most girls don’t reach their peak until later either, but it IS fiction. I have read now 4 of her books and enjoyed them all!

Regardless of my Puritan viewpoint, I found myself at pagejust not caring anymore because I knew how it was going to end, skimming to the end and getting the book off my bedside table. Erin and Nate, then and now, 20 years later, living their lives totally separately along different paths, until Erin is forced to answer a marriage proposal, one way or the other, from her very kind, successful, sweet, boyfriend, Rick.

For a sappy woman I guess but not for the realist. I’d see him out somewhere, then cry all night long and wake up with a sinus infection the next morning and have no voice left. Product details Hardcover Publisher: Who keeps paying Beth Harbison to churn out this stuff?

The chapters alternate between past and present. The supporting characters were uninteresting and seemed to harbsion there only to set Erin up for more drawn-out self-serving introspection.

One common shoe size. I enjoyed very much!! We know nothing about Nate and Erin as teenagers except that they love, love, love each somethign but fight all the time.

That being said, I wished the author had showed us a stronger bond between Erin and Nate back in high school so that I could truly believe in their love. I felt like the book relied too much on sex – either Nate and Erin were fighting because of some melodrama Erin was pulling or they were making up and having hot makeup sex.

The plot itself is nothing new- girl and boy date and fall in love, girl loses boy, years later girl and boy reconnect but there’s trouble there. Then Natasha returns home one day to find her husband and Emily gone without trace. Can you ever really know if love is true? Toward remond end of the book, the lessons Erin was able to teach Roxanne and herself were extremely worthwhile, and I understood the purpose of this plot point.

Would it impact the present? I’m hoping it’s the former because I really don’t want to “grow up” to be a crotchety old lady. There were Lisas, Michelles, Loris, Kristens, but Jordan became a girl’s name sometime in the s heth. Once she gets a proposal the face and name of Nate Lawson pops into her mind.

Teenage lovers are an illusion to a past long gone. There are two stories throughout the novel. This harbidon proved that in its time, love will act in its own way.

It certainly doesn’t help when they happen to cross paths and meet. She’s been in a year long relationship with a great guy — everything on paper is perfect–he’s hot, he’s got a great job, and his daughter is even best friends with Erin’s daughter.

I also found it a little unrealistic that at such a young age, Nate was so incredibly skilled. The ending was exactly what I thought it would be and in this case that is a good thing.

And although the ending was satisfying, it was completely unrealistic. I know I do. It turns out the dead man was the son of a prominent Boston judge and had accused his wife of poisoning their son. Now Erin has a successful career, a beautiful geth daughter, and a boyfriend who just proposed.
